Dear world community,
below you can download an appeal which we sent to the investors of the alliance Climate Action 100+. The investors of Climate Action 100+ committed to ensure "that the world’s largest corporate greenhouse gas emitters take necessary action on climate change".
We acknowledge these efforts, and look forward to seeing if the concerned investors show the worldwide climate movement that they take their commitment seriously during the upcoming Annual Shareholders' Meeting of Siemens AG on February 5.
Siemens AG is going to provide railway signalling for the Adani Carmichael project in Queensland, despite worldwide protest. This step will jeopardise the goals of the Paris Climate Accord, as each additional coal mine increases CO2 emissions. It is utterly irresponsible to put the present and future of all living beings at risk because of an expected loss of reputation. We are asking the investors of the alliance Climate Action 100+ to take action and raise their voice. Now.

Liebe weltweite Gemeinschaft,
unten zum Download stehend findet ihr einen Aufruf an die Investoren der Allianz Climate Action 100+. Die Investoren der Allianz 100+ wollen sicherstellen, "dass die weltgrößten Emittenten von Treibhausgasen auf Unternehmerseite notwendige Maßnahmen gegen den Klimawandel ergreifen". Wir würdigen diese Bemühungen und sind schon jetzt gespannt, ob die angesprochenen Investoren auf der Siemens Hauptversammlung am 05.02.20 der weltweiten Klimabewegung zeigen, dass sie ihr Engagement ernst nehmen.
Die Siemens AG beabsichtigt, das umstrittene Adani-Carmichael Projekt mit Signaltechnik für die Bahnstrecke auszustatten. Dieses Vorhaben gefährdet das Erreichen der Ziele des Pariser Klimaabkommens, da jede weitere Form des Kohleabbaus die Reduktion der CO2-Emissionen untergräbt.
Die Gegenwart und Zukunft aller Lebewesen wegen eines erwarteten Imageschadens aufs Spiel zu setzen, ist unverantwortlich. Mit diesem Aufruf richten wir uns an die Investoren der Allianz Climate Action 100+. Die Zeit für entschiedenes Handeln ist jetzt.
