Fossile Energieträger wie Öl, Gas und Kohle sind maßgeblich für die Klimakrise verantwortlich. Leider fördert unsere Regierung diese fossilen Energieträger nach wie vor mit mindestens 48 Milliarden Euro Subventionen (= staatliche, finanzielle Unterstützung für Unternehmen). So heizt sie die Klimakrise mit unseren Steuergeldern weiter an.
Um darauf hinzuweisen, trafen wir uns am 2. März 2023 im Treptower Park und liefen von dort sehr langsam und in Einklang mit der Erde zu den zur Elsenbrücke. Unterwegs hielten wir inne, um die ehrwürdigen Platanen zu betrachten, die dem Ausbau der A100 zum Opfer fallen könnten.
Die Veranstaltung war angemeldet und Teil einer Großaktion verschiedener Klimagerechtigkeitsbewegungen. Es war für uns ein gelungener, stimmungsvoller Auftakt in das Aktionsjahr 2024.
Walking meditation "Stop fossile subsidies"
Fossil fuels such as oil, gas and coal are largely responsible for the climate crisis. Unfortunately, our government continues to support these fossil fuels with with at least 48 billions of euros in subsidies (= state financial support for companies). This is how they continue to fuel the climate crisis with our tax money.
To point this out, we met on March 2, 2023 in Treptower Park and walked from there very slowly and in harmony with the earth to the Elsenbrücke. On the way we paused to look at the venerable plane trees that could fall victim to the expansion of the A100.
The event was registered and was part of a major campaign by various climate justice movements. It was a successful, atmospheric start to the 2024 campaign year for us.
